Arctic competition 2019 is open

Would you like to visit the Arctic in the summer 2019? Then you should join the Arctic competition and get a chance to win a six day long expedition to Svanhovd in Northern Norway or to the Faroe Islands.

The third Arctic competition is now open and the EDU-ARCTIC consortium invites students and their teachers from schools across Europe and outside to enter the competition.

Your task is to construct a proposal for a research project or an innovation project relevant to the Arctic.

You will compete against teams from many countries. The lucky winners of the competition will win a place on the six day long Arctic expedition to Svanhovd in Northern Norway, or to the Faroe Islands.

In one of these two places you will be able to take part in actual research that is being conducted at these locations!

Teams of one or two students between the ages of 13 and 20 along with one of their teachers can enter the competition. The teams will be asked to develop a research or innovation project related to the Arctic environment. Students and teachers from all across Europe and outside are eligible to enter the competition.

Project summaries must be submitted online via the EDU-ARCTIC portal before Friday 23 January by 11 o’clock am UTC. Following the submission of abstracts, the best 50 teams will be invited to submit full proposals describing each project. The deadline for submitting full project is 14 March 11 o’clock am UTC. Projects will be reviewed by a jury and 12 teams will be invited to personal interviews before winners of the third competition are announced in late April 2019.

For more details, please consult the Arctic competitions page on the EDU-ARCTIC website, as well as the competition rules and information sheet about the competition.

We look forward to seeing you at the competition.
